Youth Outreach
Bernard, Stephanie, BScCS
Stephanie Bernard graduated from Cape Breton University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Community Studies degree, concentration in Integrative Science. She then worked within the Integrative Science research team as a Youth Outreach Worker (Mi'kmaw Youth Outreach Coordinator) during 2004-2005. Stephanie also worked as an Integrative Science undergraduate summer research assistant. She spoke about that work at the 2003 Canadian Aboriginal Science and Technology Society (CASTS) national conference in Saskatoon, SK, and at the 2003 Canadian Conference on the Arts National Policy Conference in Halifax, NS. She also participated with others in Integrative Science at the 2001 international conference on science shops (sponsored by the European Commission, SCIPAS project) in Brussels (Leuven), Belgium.
Stephanie grew up in We’koqma’q First Nation in Unama’ki (Cape Breton), Nova Scotia.Sark, Andrew
Andrew Sark worked within the Integrative Science research team as a Youth Outreach Worker (Mi'kmaw Youth Outreach Coordinator) during 2005-2006. Look in activities for descriptions of various Integrative Science creative products that Andrew featured in his outreach projects and also ones that Andrew created himself. Andrew spoke about his outreach work at the 2006 "Healing Our Spirits Worldwide" conference held in Edmonton, AB. You can view Andrew's presentation by looking for his name in the 2006 section of our articles and presentations. Andrew is from Lennox Island First Nation, in Prince Edward Island.
