National Aboriginal Fisheries Forum   February 25, 2011

On 29 March 2011, Mi'kmaw Elder Albert Marshall and Dr. Cheryl Bartlett will co-present on Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Two-Eyed Seeing, and Co-Learning at the National Aboriginal Fisheries Forum being held 29-31 March in Dartmouth, NS.  The event is being hosted by the Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nations Chiefs Secretariat with co-hosts the Assembly of First
Nations, BC First Nation Fisheries Council, Aboriginal Aquaculture Association, and the Native Brotherhood of BC.  This national conference will focus on best practices in Aboriginal fisheries and economic development. Practitioners and interested parties can share and evaluate accomplishments to date, consider current issues and challenges facing the fisheries sector and identify opportunities and new
directions for future economic success. The presentations and format will focus on those working directly in the industry across Canada, with an emphasis on commercial fisheries, aquaculture seafood marketing and product development and recreational fishing activities.
